We are, first and foremost, experts in safety.  Our trips are led by guides with current Wilderness and Remote First Response and Paddle Canada certifications. Just as importantly, we customize trip-difficulty and travel-pace to the skill and comfort level of our clients. We also take care to provide technical training and rescue procedures to all novice paddlers.
A comprehensive first aid kit come with us on every trip, and communication devices are never far from reach.


Nick Brennan

Nick has been working on rivers, oceans and wilderness campsites, sharing his love of adventure with others since 1996. He is a skilled canoe, kayak, hiking and fly-fishing guide. His work experience includes guiding for Outward Bound Canada and instructing Paddle Canada canoe courses. He is a member of the Association for Experiential Educators and the Outdoor Educators of New Brunswick. He is Paddle Canada Canoe Instructor and a certified Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Responder.


Mike Carpenter

Mike has been guiding multi-day sea kayaking trips on the Bay of Fundy since 1998. He operated River Valley Adventures in St. Martins, NB along the Fundy Trail coastline offering sea kayaking and hiking tours for nine years. He is now the Outdoor Education Director and Outward Bound Canada Program Coordinator at Rothesay Netherwood School in Rothesay, NB. There he organizes a wide variety of outdoor adventure activities. He is a Paddle Canada Sea Kayak Instructor and certified Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Responder.


Beth Johnston

While guiding a 6 week travel study tour of Newfoundland as a student in Outdoor Recreation, Beth Johnston was turned on to the joys of wilderness adventure and has not looked back. For over thirty years she has been guiding young and old into the wilderness with Outward Bound Canada, and for the last 8 years has been guiding for travel writers and film crews in her own local province of New Brunswick, Canada. Her interests include anything outdoors, making music with friends, and finding new trails and areas of local interest. Her passion in work is to make any outdoor adventure a positive, learning and fun adventure.  



Michelle Reid

Michelle has been working in the outdoor industry ever since she fell in love with paddling on the Bay of Fundy in 2003. Since then she has worked as a kayak guide, outdoor instructor and high school teacher across Canada. Before returning to New Brunswick, Michelle lived in an isolated community in the Northwest Territories, where she honed her winter camping skills and had the privilege of exploring the northern landscape and culture with First Nations youth and Elders. She has a Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick. She is a certified Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Responder and holds instructor certifications in sea kayaking, alpine and cross-country skiing. She seasonally leads guided kayak expeditions for Quark in Antarctica and Arctic, and guides for Outward Bound Canada’s Women of Courage program.



Eric Sohi

Eric is a devoted outdoor educator and guide who has worked in the adventure industry since 2006. He has led wilderness trips and leadership courses for Camp Glenburn, The Boundless School and Outward Bound Canada. He is a certified Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Responder and completed Paddle Canada courses in kayaking and canoeing. Eric’s home base is in St. Martins, where his big smile can be seen on a near daily basis at our kayak shop. Red Rock Adventure couldn’t be happier to have him on board.
